The Atlantic is an innovative, adaptive reuse project utilizing a historic Beaux-Arts style building. Measuring at 22-stories, it sits at the intersection of cultural and residential districts, offering luxury living in the heart of Center City, Philadelphia, with a focus on sustainability.
The building is completely powered by wind-generated electricity, built with responsibly sourced materials, and designed with an energy-efficient HVAC. Because of the environmental consideration, the building received the LEED Gold Certification for innovative sustainable design.
The luxury studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments offer an array of amenities. Kitchens feature Betazzoni appliances, high-powered touch-control induction cooktops, and Calacatta Gold marble quartz countertops. The spa-inspired bathrooms utilize electrostatically controlled high-pressure body jets, rain head, and hand showers, along with instant hot water and steam and airflow control shower doors. An iPad mounted in each apartment controls heating, air, window shades, and lighting. Warm-toned LED lighting fills each space with dimmers in every room.
The fitness center and spa facilities offer high-pressure showers, dry saunas, light therapy and tanning, and a steam room. These spaces receive a constant high-volume flow of humidity-controlled air. The rooftop terrace includes a waterfall-edge pool overlooking the city skyline, an oversized hot tub, built-in fireplaces, overhead gas heaters, and an outdoor kitchen with grilling stations, refrigerators, and sinks.
MEP/FP Special Features
Unique, 4-pipe fan-coil Integrated Piping Systems (IPS) heating and cooling system
Domestic water piping delivery system utilized for the HVAC system, realizing space and cost efficiencies
Because ownership took occupancy of upper floor units while the lower portion of the building was being completed, MEP/FP systems were incrementally completed and turned over until final completion
