Shirt Corner

Multi-family Residential

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Website: apgliving.com

General Overview: The Shirt Corner project was intended to create apartments within the original historic “Shirt Corner” storefront. During demolition, the façade was so structurally unsound it collapsed. This resulted in a new façade in the character of the original. The five story building created 59 one and two bedroom units. Located in the heart of Old City, this modern building offers an array of amenities to its residents including central air and heating, in-unit washer/dryers, fitness center, custom tiled bathrooms, and stainless steel appliances.

Special Features: The design integrated with the original building’s structural walls and columns while creating new space with a two story overbuild. All utility services (electric, gas, water) were upgraded to satisfy the new needs.

Construction Value: Approximately $22 million

AEI Services Provided: AEI provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services.
